Daphne bholua 'Jacqueline Postill'

Daphne bholua 'Jacqueline Postill' is gloriously in flower now, the scented air greeting us as we venture out in the front garden. Coach parties of visitors flock to sniff the air. I'm exaggerating but not about the scent. I have exhausted the topic in previous posts so here is the source of all that perfumed air.

  1. Daphnes - another genus of plants I covet! I grew a D. odora semi-successfully years ago in my former garden. I just checked my garden guide and found it may be worth another try in the alkaline-leaning soil I inherited with my current garden. Now I just need to find one in a local nursery.

  2. I have three varieties but this is the best by a country mile. Streaming perfume and a subtle colour in the winter gloom.
